Job Description
The Executive Producer oversees the editorial direction, field production and post-production of co- productions and original productions, as assigned by the VP of Production. He or she takes a leading role in the research and development of new productions, ranging from show idea development and crew hiring to shoot supervision and assisting with post- production of in-house projects.
The Executive Producer takes overall responsibility, when requested, for the editorial direction and production of one-off specials and series.
Work activities include writing, researching and assessing ideas and finished scripts, selecting key staff and pulling together all the strands of creative and practical talent involved in the project to create a team.
Required Skills/Experience To qualify, you must have have at least 10 years experience in long form non-fiction television production. Should have produced quality, ratings winning programming for national broadcast.
The Executive Producer must have thorough knowledge of television production process, from development through post-production, including:
Strong editorial and story telling skills
. Extensive experience in field production and directing
. Excellent writing skills and story- development experience
. Knowledge of post-production process
. Knowledge of industry standards for rights and clearances
