Position Description
Responsible for administrative and technical leadership of the accounting and reporting functions of A2H. This position oversees the organization's accounting practices and financial reporting including preparation and review of all accounting records and financial reports.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the functions of accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, internal auditing, and payroll.
Manage all areas of the accounting department, ensuring legal and audit requirements are met.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate the accounting department staff.
Responsible for the preparation of both internal and external financial statements.
Responsible for remaining current with the latest accounting pronouncements and concepts, applying those concepts to A2H's financial statements as well as the reporting and registration requirements of the various states that A2H conducts business in.
Performs significant review of financial statements assuring the proper allocation of revenues and expenses.
Responsible for the management of accounts payable, payroll, cash management and accounting for investment transactions.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of an appropriate system of internal control over financial activities.
Plan and supervise internal audits and the follow up.
Coordinates the year-end annual financial audit and IRS 990, including the preparation of workpapers.
Applicant Qualifications
A Masters in Business Administration and/or CPA is desirable.
Ten or more years of related experience in accounting, including supervision of accounting staff.
Familiarity with Not-for-Profit Corporation Law and its applicability.
Highly self-motivated, demonstrated leadership abilities. Committed to organizational mission of ending hunger.
