Job Description
PURPOSE: To lead and coordinate all transient sales activities. This individual will create and maintain a highly energized selling culture while developing and implementing appropriate strategic sales plans for Omni Hotels Global Transient Sales Team. Such plans could be inclusive of global and local sales resources. The Corporate Director of Transient Sales will have a leadership role in the company’s mandate to increase revenues through market penetration and enhanced revenue performance of properties operated by the company. Success is determined through improvement in our revenue performance in the transient business segments as compared to that of our defined competitors, annual goals and year over year performance DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Lead the development execution of overall transient business direct sales plans. · Insures that adequate plans for maximum transient revenue improvement are in place for all hotels and the global sales organization. Presents such plans for general review and approval by the VP, Sales and Distribution and President. · Has a plan for the development of personnel resources within the Company and maintain programs that will encourage successful future transient sales leadership of the business. · Works with marketing department to develop appropriate sales support materials while understanding consumer trends of all transient segments. · Ensures that Global Directors of Transient Sales and Global Directors of Travel Industry Sales are focused on highest priority properties and brand message. · Monitor individual hotel revenue performance toward plan achievement. Recommend adjustments to plan should changes occur in the competitive landscape. · Analyze business trends, identify revenue opportunities and develop strategic plans with supporting tactics for revenue attainment. · Collect and analyze information on use history, plans, decision structure, and strategies of key customers and competitors. Ensure that there is a repository of relevant industry, market, customer and competitive information. · Ensures proper goal setting practices and incentives are aligned with transient business objectives. · Creates alignment between global resources and property resources. · Ensures that property and global sales teams can articulate the transient benefits of an Omni Hotel solution to close sales opportunities. · Creates alignment between corporate, brand and property sales execution. · The ability to attract and retain high performing staff members through effective selection, training, performance management, career development and compensation. Ties strategies and planned actions to results. · Can quickly inspire confidence and gains respect from subordinates, partners, competitors and owners. · Combines a confident, self-starting, high performance orientation with a track record that reflects a proactive attitude. · Enjoys meeting with major customers, personally networking within the industry during the normal course of business and at industry events. · The interpersonal skills to motivate and energize the entire organization. · Ability to achieve results through development and training of people. · Project management skills including organizing, multitasking, and budget reconciliation. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: · College Degree (BS/BA) is requited, and a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Hotel or Hospitality or Business Administration is preferred. · Five (5) years in Hotel/Hospitality Management required with a substantial portion of that experience in a National Sales Leadership environment. · Five (5) years experience in Senior Level/Corporate or multi-unit responsibility. · Experience, at one or more of the above levels, in National Business Travel Sales. · Hotel Sales and in particular Hotel Business Travel Sales experience preferred. · Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing experience preferred.
