Job Description
We are seeking a VP Research, to help raise the bar and define how TNS should strategically partner with Financial Services clients. This is an opportunity to craft and design a new model for our Research Management Organization, which will directly impact clients. Elevate all end to end research, from the initial client strategy session, to the final deliverable.
The right person will be a strong guide and mentor to the team. This person will be the main research partner for Financial Services clients, representing our largest sector in our largest region. As such, this role is highly visible with TNS and Kantar.
This is an excellent leadership opportunity to learn best insights practices from a top industry leader, while being the primary client contact with, key clients, while managing a team and being the strategic partner of the Account team, providing top level Brand & Communication and Stakeholder Management expertise.
Responsible for managing, cultivating and developing professional services team to maximize their potential (capacity and quality).
Responsible for ensuring that staff is fully utilized and works with counterparts within individual team and regionally to solve for resource needs. Collaborates with internal departments to implement and execute projects. Leads the design and analysis of research results to deliver high quality actionable insights to clients.
Will be well respected and have a high credibility in the industry as a thought leader/researcher.
Required Skills
* Primary partner to AE/clients for design and methodology.
* Writes design and analysis sections of proposals for complex studies or programs.
* Views research holistically and can see additional opportunities to create value for clients.
* Can mentor teams from beginning to end of research programs.
* Proven leader.
* Enjoys a challenge and problem solving.
* In partnership with the AE, consults with clients to understand their business needs in order to strengthen and deepen relationships and expand business opportunities.
* Oversees research management staff deliverables and escalated operational team issues to ensure successful execution and implementation of research projects.
* Client contact as needed during the life of a study.
* Develops research and reporting capabilities of research teams and ensures quality client deliverables (well written, address business issues and provide valuable and actionable insights)
* May serve as an AoE Champion for the Region.
Required Experience
* Minimum 10 years of custom market research experience in a direct client service role required, supplier side experience preferred.
* Bachelors’ degree in Business, Marketing, Marketing Research or related field or equivalent experience.
* Advanced Microsoft Office
* Excellent written and oral communications
* Previous management experience
